ChinaVenture Group is a leading research and consulting institute in China providing investment advisory services to China-focused investment banks and investment institutions, as well as 3rd party information products and research & consulting services to domestic companies. ChinaVenture also operates the largest media platform (www.chinaventure.com.cn) focusing on China’s VC/PE investment industry, and hosts various investment-related conferences and forums each year. ChinaVenture was founded in 2005 with offices in Beijing and Shanghai.

Founder Introduction

Jay Chen, Founding Partner

Jay Chen is a Founding Partner of ChinaVenture Group. He has spent over 10 years at the capital market in both US and China. Prior to committing himself to ChinaVenture as a fulltime partner, Jay was a partner at Softbank China & India holdings Limited, having led or involved in several investments with total investment amount exceeding $400 million dollars. Jay is also a founder of Ploutos Investment Consulting Firm, which was restructured into ChinaVenture in 2005. Jay led ChinaVenture and completed more than $200 million worth of M&A transactions. Jay returned China in 2002 and was invited to be an advisor at the Proprietary Trading Department of a leading Chinese investment bank - ShenYin Wanguo. Jay started his career from Wall Street in 1995. He was appointed as a head trader at a New York hedge fund. Previously, he joined Bear Stearns at its Mortgage-backed Securities Department, and worked with BlackRock Asset Management at its Fixed-Income Pricing Department. Jay holds a B.S Degree from Columbia University.

Henry Yang, Founding Partner

Henry Yang, co-founder of ChinaVerture, is a renowned Internet economy expert and the sole founder of iResearch Consulting Group.He was among the first crop of Internet industry professionals in China. Henry joined Soim in 1999 as a Marketing Manager. In late 1999, he and his partners raised $2million from Morningside and founded WiseHorse, one of the earliest Internet advertising and marketing firms in China. Mr. Yang founded iResearch in late 2002 in Shanghai. Now iResearch is the most influential Internet research and consulting firm in China. Henry holds a BS degree from the East China University of Science and Technology . In 2005, Henry and Jay founded ChinaVenture to operate the investment industry portal jointly. He also takes part in some of the investment and financing business.

Kevin Jin, Executive Vice President

Kevin Jin is the Executive Vice President of ChinaVenture Group. Prior to joining ChinaVenture in June 2006,, he worked with Sina for three years and was responsible for the editorial operation of its IT&Intenet content. He was instrumental in establishing Sina Blog site into the largest online Blog Service Provider. He also led the foundation of Sina IT Saloon and Sina IPTV club.Kevin holds a B.S. from Tsinghua University.
