Analysis of Q1/2009 Domestic PE Fundraisings

In the first quarter, a total of 15 funds completed their fundraisings, with three Growth Funds snatching a combined amount of USD 209 million. Despite the decline in the average size of newly completed funds has been slowing down (as shown in Figure 2-1), the fundraising amount of Growth Funds continued a downward trend, as evidenced in the fundraising scales of Growth Funds. As shown in Figure 2-1, in Q3/2008, the fundraising scale was USD 2.75 billion, while the figure for Q1/2009 only USD 209 million, posting a 92.4% decline.
